Book Review- Days of Revenge by Jawairia Ali

"I saw myself falling deeper and deeper in love with this man, who in so little time, had become my world."
Before I start my review, I would like to wish the author a very happy birthday❤️I specifically chose this day to post this review so I could wish her hehe.
My other friend on Bookstagram had posted about this book and the picture had Can Yemen and Demet Özdemir on it since J (Yes, I call her J, and no you cannot call her that cause you ain't her bestie🤪) chose these two as the cast for her main characters and if you haven't read about my obsession with Turkish Shows, go read my post on it, My obsession with everything Turkish. I had finished watching Erkenci Kuş and was rewatching it again at the time because I had loved it so much. I am obsessed with Can and Sanem and got super excited about this so I texted the author and we started obsessing over these two. Like me, she also watches Turkish shows so I get to gush with her about them😍.
Eventually, we started talking more and became good friends. Later, the friend who had posted about her book made a group of the three of us and now I can't spend a single day without talking to these two idiots.
This is me finding the perfect opportunity to post this review. I had to wait for a month for her birthday to post it but that's okay because I love making her wait🤪.
Happy birthday J, I love you and your crazy ass. You old af now. Thanks for roasting me 24/7 and handling my dumb ass. I hope you have an amazing day, eat a shit ton of cake and keep writing more wonderful books♥️

SYNOPSIS
He was supposed to be my protector. Instead, he stole my body. Broke my heart. Toyed with my life.
So now...vengeance is all I seek.
Age shouldn’t matter to an immortal goddess. But for Adirah, turning eighteen heralded a loss of innocence — at the hands of the one person who should have protected her. Now, thirty years after forsaking her kingdom for the human world, Adirah has a found family, a desk job in an architecture firm, and — finally — her body is hers to enjoy.
The only problem is, her last fling left in a hurry, so Adirah isn’t sure who she’s exchanging flirty texts with. Until grouchy, gorgeous Royce Wolfe is right there in front of her...again. This time, the romance is fierce and breathtaking for two people certain that they don’t “do” relationships.
But when Adirah’s past threatens to destroy the future she wants and the people she loves, she must finally face her responsibilities, her secrets — and the one man she vowed never to see again.

MY THOUGHTS
My first thought when I opened the book? What a great human this woman is. The first few pages talk about Palestine and if a person supports Palestine we already know they're a good human being (come fight me if you think otherwise)😌. She has also added some reliable sources for you to read more about the history and the current situation of Palestine.
Moving on, she hilariously begs her parents not to read her book lol. One of the reasons I'm scared to write a book. I don't want my family reading it and judging me👀.
"You were really meant for me, weren't you amare?"
This book is a Greek mythology inspired dark romantic fantasy and I don't remember the last time I read a fantasy book. I was a little worried about this one not being my cup of tea but oh my god, it absolutely was. I devoured this book in two days!
It had long chapters which I usually don't like because I hate to stop reading mid chapter and like to stop only when I have finished a chapter and long chapters make it difficult for me. But I was hiding in the washroom reading it until the chapter ended so nobody would interrupt me until I was done reading lol.
Also, please check out the trigger warnings before reading this book.
This book revolves around the immortal vs mortal theme where Adirah is an immortal and Royce is a mortal. Both of them have a one night stand and later they turn out to be neighbours as well as workmates. Royce turns out to be her boss too and also recognizes her from their night together. Adirah, doesn't remember him because she was super drunk and texts the guy from that night (which is Royce). They talk without Royce letting her know he's the same man (her boss and the guy from that night).
"Amare, for as long as I live, I'll never let you go."
The love between these two is amazing. I love them so much. Royce is everything I look for in a man lol. He's protective, gets jealous super easily and only sees Adirah. He's so in love with her that if she isn't around, he can't seem to think straight and he can't live without her. I absolutely love men like him hehe.
I love the story about the kingdom of Azure and how Royce feels like it's all true. Like no duh, the goddess is sitting right next to you lol.
I absolutely hated Adirah's and Royce's dads. They were absolute A holes. But Adirah and Royce's best friends were literally the best, we all need friends like them in our life. Danish was one of Royce's best friend and he had a son. I loved his son's bond with Royce and Adirah and both of their other friends were hilarious af too.
"I licked it, now it's fucking mine."
Okay😌
Royce behind the doors with Adirah was hot af🤤 I loved everything about these two😍
Since Can and Demet were casted as these two, I loved visualizing them and they absolutely fit in as the characters. I was shook how some scenes were so similar to the show but J made all of it by herself. She didn't even know about this show when she was writing her book. This only means one thing--it was meant to be hehe.
Anyway, the only minor stuff that I felt could be improved was in the first two chapters I felt like there were a few scene jumps and then there were these two scenes when I felt like the other person's reaction wasn't good enough, but that's just minor stuff. The story made up for it.
I don't want to write more about this book because I know I will end up revealing some stuff that I shouldn't so it's better that you go and read it instead!
Also, if you know me, you would know that I don't read books if the whole series is not out, even if the book is a standalone in the series, but for J, I read this book and now I wanna cry because I WANNA KNOW WHAT HAPPENS NEXT SO BAD😭
The book ends with a cliffhanger which had me shook. The second book is the continuation of this one, which means we get more of Royce and Adirah, yaas! It will be released in September 2024.
