Book Review- The Royal Beast by Jawairia Ali

Book Review- The Royal Beast by Jawairia Ali

"For who could ever learn to love evil's guise."

Okay y'all, J is back with another book of hers after successfully making me obsessed with the actors she casted for this book. If you guys remember, I had posted a book review for her debut novel a few months ago. If you want to check out my review for the Days of Revenge (long version) or Days of Revenge (short version), you can check it out hehe. Also, if you haven't read that book already, go read it rn💘

I was already obsessed with the actors she had casted for that book (Demet Özdemir and Can Yaman) and that's how we actually became friends. Go read my review for her other book for the full story🤪. But for this book, she chose Pakistani actors who I had no clue about so I wasn't that excited about it in the beginning. She kept posting stuff about her book with little clips of the actors from the show and after watching them repeatedly, I was like, 'you know what? This show looks kinda interesting. I wanna watch it'. I texted J, asking her for the name of it and started watching the show right away. Next thing I know? I am absolutely obsessed with the show and its characters. I finished the show in like 5 days. It would've been much less but my grandma was over so I wanted to spend time with her hehe.

Also, review for the show is gonna be posted soon so subscribe to my blog to keep up with my posts hehe💟

In case you want to check out the short version of the review of this book, you can check it out here.

Two tribes at war.
One vendetta for the ages.

Dr.Malik Hamzah Shah has lived through the same never-ending nightmare since the age of thirteen. Death. Screams. Betrayal. So, when his father is fatally poisoned, Hamzah is ready with his own brand of vigilante justice — making an example of the corrupt rich, in his search for the killer.

To the press, he is known only as “Wehshi,” a trained assassin, operating with deadly precision and total anonymity. But Hamzah’s thirst for justice spills into his personal life the night he meets beautiful Hooriyah Ranjha.

Betrothed to a bully, Hoor is used to staying strong. And Hamzah is used to never taking no for an answer — until now. As they clash, fiercely, something unnamable ignites between them.

But the mysteries of their warring bloodlines loom large over their union, threatening to destroy any peace they dared to dream of.

MY THOUGHTS
"I'll love you to the gates of hell. Because loving you in this world will never be enough."

I had the honour of beta reading this story for my cutie💗 I was reading the story and editing it a lil as I went but my speed was a little slow but once I watched the show mid way and got obsessed with the characters, I was excited to read the whole story. I ended up finishing the second half in like a day or two👀.

I also received the arc for it and fell harder for the story and its characters the second time I read it hehe. I am obsessed with this book😩💘.

Also, look at the book cover!!😍 It's absolutely gorgeous. It's probably my most favourite book cover. My talented queen, J designed it herself. Contact her if you want her to design a cover for your book too🤪

Oh, and I also had the honour of proofreading the story. The deadline for J to submit her story was close so I stayed up till 10 am and J stayed up till pretty late too, trying to finish it up. We both were surviving on a 3 hour sleep the next day🤪

I fell asleep on the couch in my parents room while watching TV with them and got kicked out😭

{Anyway, lemme promote my business real quick. I am a freelance editor, proofreader, beta read, short story writer and a Spanish tutor. If you ever need my services, let me know or if you want to contact me, check out my profiles or gigs. Please either scroll all the way to the top or the bottom of this or on any other page on this website and you'll get all the options to contact me there hehe}

Also, please know that just because I beta read, proofread, received an arc for this story or also the fact that J is my friend, does not affect my opinions. My review is completely honest and if I hadn't liked the story, I wouldn't have been writing this review. Nobody has forced me to write it😌 I only post reviews of the books here that I absolutely love and feel that they are worth posting on my blog✨.

"A guy like me doesn't deserve someone as beautiful and pure as you."

Moving on, let's start with the review hehe.

Firstly, if you're someone who likes reading about different cultures, this book is for you. The royal beast represents the Pakistani culture and you'll get to learn a lot about the culture in this book. I am someone who loves reading about different cultures so this was one of the reasons why I enjoyed reading this book so much!

Pakistani culture is pretty similar to my culture and since I have never read a book that represented my culture, I absolutely enjoyed reading this one. There are a few dialogues in their language (along with the translations, of course) and I enjoyed reading them, especially when Hamzah kept swearing at everyone lmao.

Hamzah has a political rivalry with Adnan and his dad. Hooriyah is Adnan's fiancé and once Hamzah figures that out, he decides to steal her from Adnan and marry her for revenge instead. They both hate each other in the beginning but slowly start to fall in love with each other.

I absolutely loved their relationship, the banter, the spice, the protectiveness and their love for each other. Men in J's books are literally my dream men. She's the reason why I'm still single, and simping over men that either do not exist or men that don't know that I exist (@bilalabbas_khan being the one I'm talking about here🙁).

Little Zoyah stole the show though! I absolutely adored her relationship with Hamzah and Hoor. Man literally goes around killing people and making them fear him but gets paraded around by a six year old girl. It was absolutely hilarious hehe. I also loved how quickly she fell in love with Hooriyah and played the matchmaker to bring them closer to each other.

I loved Numair, his friend. Their banter was absolutely hilarious and I loved their friendship. While I adored Hooriyah's mum, I absolutely hated Hamzah's mum. I loved how Hoor's mum took a quick liking to Hamzah and loved her relationship with him. But his mum? She was absolutely selfish and didn't like Hoor. Like why tf are you forcing your son to marry someone when he doesn't want to? (Almost gave out a spoiler but then I remembered that J would kick my ass if I did that😩).

Also, I absolutely loved how Hamzah protected Hoor from his mum, every time she tried to say something bad about her.

Nadia, was a pain in the ass. The man keeps rejecting you but you keep running after him even after he got married. Ma'am where the f is your self respect? I am glad Hooriyah put her in her place hehe. She's a whole ass queen and I know Hamzah would def agree with me😌.

The plot, the twists, the story, the love and the smut were all absolutely perfect. The smut scenes were so HOT🤤. My girl's imagination is wild af and I'm loving it all. Can't wait to read more of her books hehe.

I absolutely fell in love this this book and it's characters and definitely recommend reading it! But make sure you check out the trigger warnings before you start reading the book.

Another reason you should be reading the book? Your girl has been mentioned in the acknowledgement😭 I cannot tell you how happy that made me. I read the paragraph and started crying😭Literally the sweetest thing ever. Go read it🤪

I also absolutely love the hard work she puts into everything. Her editing skills are top notch. Y'all gotta check her edits out. Go follow her Instagram rn rn rn. Her ID is @the.cosmic.author. She'll keep you entertained with her content and also keep you updated about her stories.

Anyway, I loved everything about this book and cannot stop thinking about it hehe.

I'm super proud of you J💗 Can't wait for your other books to come out😍

Until next time x

See y'all soon with a new post!💖
