Double Chocolate Brownie Protein Balls

Double Chocolate Brownie Protein Balls

Are you someone who keeps having sweet cravings but also wishes to lose weight and not mess up your diet? If yes, then you're at the right place today hehe.

I've got a super sweet tooth and also wanna get thin but we all know that sugar and losing weight never go hand in hand. I am always craving desserts, so now I am on a hunt to find some recipes that are not only healthy for you but also super delicious. I found this recipe and it has other variants of these protein balls on someone's account and decided to try them out. I don't know if they changed their username or deleted their profile because I can't find their page anymore so if any of you guys know the original owner of this recipe, please let me know.

These protein balls are a perfectly healthy snack for your diet or your sweet cravings. You can carry them around and pop em in your mouth for some extra energy or have them whenever you want!

My brother comes home from uni on the weekends and I always make a batch of them and send them with him so he has some healthy snacks to munch over. Since he's a gym freak, he's always looking for his protein intake for the day so this is a perfect and delicious way to cover up some of his requirements.

I honestly didn't expect them to taste so good but they do taste good and I don't even feel guilty about eating them because they're healthy af but in moderation, of course😌.

The fun part about it is that you don't have to bake them and they get ready super quickly which means even a beginner can make them with zero experience in baking and cooking. So, if you are someone who struggles in the kitchen, you can definitely make this recipe and surprise your loved ones.

You can also try out different combinations to see which one you like more and make different flavours out of it. You can switch out the milk chocolate chips with white chocolate chips, add in peanut butter instead of making it chocolaty or mix both of them, add different flavoured protein powders, etc. I kinda wanna make a pistaschio kunafa inspired one hehe.

If you try out any other variants or want me to try any, comment below and I'll do it for you🤪

I just found a strawberry protein powder in my kitchen and am wondering if it tastes good or disgusting af like those pink cough syrups? Don't blame me, I usually just have vanilla or chocolate. My brother and my cousin have made me try blueberry and bubblegum and I had liked those two as well lol.

I feel like I should know the calorie of each ball but I don't remember it. I just remember it was a low calorie protein snack lmao. Please forgive me😭

Either way, I love this recipe because it doesn't require any baking or cooking and gets ready within minutes. You can have it right away or refrigerate it before serving. I find it better tasting when it's cold so I pop mine into the fridge for an hour or so. I also find it more stable and less sticky after refrigerating it. You can try it both ways and see which one you like more.

If you make these protein balls, please let me know how it goes.

Double Chocolate Brownie Protein Balls

Ingredients

Instructions
  • Blend oats into a fine oat flour.
  • In a bowl, add oat floor, protein powder, cocoa powder and salt and mix.
  • Add maple syrup and 1 tbsp of water/milk at a time until a thick dough forms. It should take about 8-10 tbsps of water/milk. Add more if needed (I usually do have to add more because mine stays crumbly with the given amount).
  • Mix in the chocolate chips.
  • Roll them into balls, the size depends on your choice. You can see the picture above for how I like mine. Pop them into refrigerator for an hour or so if you want to or directly serve them. Store them in an airtight container if you have leftovers.
  • Enjoy❤️

NOTES

  • You can also use store bought oats flour if you wish to. We usually have at least a kilo of oats always stored in the pantry since my brother goes to the gym and needs it all the time for his protein shakes or oatmeals. We also love to have different types of oatmeals all the time as well and I am thinking of uploading recipes for it too. So, I didn't need to order the flour, just ended up blending my oats.
  • I gave this recipe out to someone and they asked me if they could replace the maple syrup with honey. I haven't tried it but I am pretty sure you can. It will definitely change the taste of these protein balls so if you want to try, maybe take a little amount of dough first and mix honey to it. Make the balls and taste it to see if you like it before adding it to the rest of the dough.
  • You can replace the milk chocolate chips with either white chocolate chips or chop milk, white or dark chocolate into small cubes and add them to the dough.
  • If the protein balls are sticky, put them into the refrigerator for an hour or so and they should be fine after. I usually prefer mine this way because they taste better like this hehe. But when I don't have time or don't wanna wait, I usually have it like that.
