What is a Bookstagram?
Have you ever heard the term 'Bookstagram' and wondered what it meant?
Because the first time I heard it, I thought it was a new app like Instagram but was probably related to books😭 I was so confused that I had to google it up but this was all after I unknowingly made a Bookstagram account. I saw people use this term and that's when I decided to search it up online.
Bookstagram is basically creating a book account on Instagram where you post content related to books, book memes, book reviews, recommend books to your followers, find new authors, promote their books, receive arcs and review them, do book challenges, make bookish friends from all around the world, read book reviews and find your next favourite read!
I have always wanted to do something on Instagram but didn't have the courage to make my own videos or audios and post them for thousands of people to see. I have already explained the reason in my other post, Can't Help Falling. You can read it there if you want to hehe.
Anyway, since I didn't want to post about myself, I started with making a One Direction account in like grade 7 or 8, where I wrote and posted short stories when I had realized I enjoyed writing. Then I got bored of it because I felt like my stories were cringe and changed it into a One Direction fan page where I posted daily updates on the boys. When the band went on Hiatus, I decided to turn it into a Harry Styles fan page, figured out I wasn't enjoying it, got obsessed with Lottie Tomlinson ( Louis Tomlinson's sister) and changed it into a fan page for her. After a while, I got bored of it too because not a lot of people knew about her back then so I ended up making a new account for Brent Rivera and his gang, even though I wasn't a fan of them.
Surprisingly, in a short amount of time, I had reached 10k followers through consistent posting. Though the achievement was a lot, I wasn't happy with it because it wasn't something I had created. I wanted to do something on my own and not just repost somebody else. I wanted to create my own identity. Since this page already had 10k followers, I decided to change it into a page where I created my own content.
But, my luck is the absolute worst because I woke up one day and my page got disabled before I could even change it to what I wanted it to be. Though I was sad, I decided to change my Lottie Tomlinson fan page into something that I really love and where I wouldn't have to use my voice for the content.
It took me sometime to figure out what I wanted to do. I realized that I could post book reviews, so I started with it. I later felt like I wanted to add something else to my content so I started posting recipe videos along with the reviews. They're super shitty and unprofessional but it's my first time doing this so please forgive me lol. I cook with one hand and record with the other with zero photography or videography skills hehe.
Anyway, I named my page 'mividaa' .
Mi vida is a Spanish phrase which translates to 'my life' and since reading and eating are literally the only two things that I like and do all day, I felt like it was an appropriate name for my page🤪

I started the page for fun but never realized how I was helping others through it and how it helped me in return!
I post book reviews which helps authors to promote their books and I share my love for the books with my followers, and in return I get to find my next favourite read! Similarly, I try out random recipes from different food bloggers and post them if they end up tasting good. In that way, I help people discover new bloggers and new food recipes from different cultures.
I started posting and then somehow got into the book community. To be honest, it's one of the best communities I have been in. Leaving aside a few pendejos, everyone is the absolute sweetest and super helpful.
I've met some of the most wonderful people from all around the world, out of which a few of them are now my very good friends. Unfortunately, we're all from different parts of the world so we're online friends but we talk almost everyday about our life and about the most random things. They have always supported me and helped me in every situation, whether it be good or bad and I am honestly so thankful for them. If I could, I would replace them with my current friends lmao.
I feel absolutely blessed to have joined this community and if you want to join it too, let me know and I'll help you with it! I will also be posting some tips to join Bookstagram soon.
